Fit 'N' Fun Kids is a child care, activities and retail services company set up by Rachel Jones in April 2001. Being a mother of two children and having a background in childrens physical activities, she was very passionate in bringing this provision to the children of Cornwall.

The company was initially started by providing mobile physical activity classes for children aged from six weeks to seven years of age, together with their parents/carers. Classes are set up in local halls and consist of soft play and climbing equipment, physical development resources and a vibrant Instructor who takes the children through music and movement, interactive stories, parachute play and physical development skills. After delivering this service for approximately six months, an experienced Physical Activity Instructor joined the company which enabled Rachel to begin developing the services Fit N Fun Kids could offer, these being to develop the classes throughout Cornwall, provide Support Creches for training events and consultation days and Childrens Entertainment for the private, corporate and charitable organisations and also provide a high quality childcare provision in Falmouth.

Fit 'N' Fun Kids became Sure Start Service Providers in July 2001 and to date now provide physical development classes for Sure Start and private members throughout Cornwall.

Support Creches are again a mobile service and are used for consultation days, training events and weddings.

Childrens entertainment is very popular and we have put together twenty different party packages for private birthdays, corporate and charitable events. This service is delivered anywhere throughout Cornwall and occasionally up as far as London, for a few well known celebrities!

September 2002 the first Fit N Fun Kids Day Nursery was opened, providing day care for children aged 3 months to 11 years of age including out of school care clubs, pre-school education, and wraparound care. The Falmouth Nursery was initially registered for fifty five children but since putting in an extension, we are now able to provide care for up to seventy five children per day.

Our Falmouth Nursery is unique in the fact that we have within the setting a large indoor soft play room, a sensory garden and two outdoor play areas, together with six day care rooms. We also provide transportation to and from home and school.

In January 2003, it was decided to franchise our concept and with the assistance of Business Link and a Franchise Consultant, we opened our first franchise in Surrey in January 2004 and became a Member of the British Franchise Association in June 2004. In 2006, a second Franchise was opened in Coventry, with plans to open other Franchises throughout the Country.

Rachel Jones was awarded Childcare Entrepreneur of the Year by Kids Club Network in 2003 and in 2004 was invited to celebrate her achievements with Cherie Blair at Downing Street. In 2006, Rachel was Runner Up in the prestigious Cornwall Business Awards.

Fit 'N' Fun Kids are committed to provide a fair and open admission system that offers a competitively priced and good value service. As a provider of registered childcare, we both encourage and actively support eligible parents/carers claiming and taking up the childcare element of the working tax credit.

We understand that the cost of registered childcare may seem expensive to a parent/carer. However, providing a high quality, safe and stimulating service for children is not cheap thus we need to make these charges to ensure the continued high standards and sustainability of the provision.

Fit 'N' Fun Kids are aware that some children have special needs and/or physical disabilities, that require particular support and assistance. We are committed to taking appropriate action to make sure that all children are able to access our services, made to feel welcome, and that our activities promote their welfare and development. We are committed to taking positive steps to ensure that we provide a safe and caring environment, which is warm and stimulating for all children to play, learn and develop freely.

Finally, Fit 'N' Fun Kids opened their first One Stop Shop, Fun Kids, in Falmouth April 2006. This shop caters for children from birth to fourteen years, providing a selection of childrens clothing. This shop also provides an initial enquiry service for anyone wishing to access Fit 'N' Fun Kids Services. Plans are currently under way to design a Fit 'N' Fun Kids Childrens Clothing range. This area of the company also offers a Party Plan service.
